Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement Manage and mentor a team of senior and staff accountants, providing coaching, training, and performance guidance Identify, lead, and execute process improvement initiatives to reduce close timelines and increase efficiency Design and implement scalable processes, templates, and automation solutions across the accounting function Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (FP&A, operations, IT) to improve data flow, reporting accuracy, and overall financial processes Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables Analyze financial results, including variance analysis and flux explanations, and communicate insights to leadership Drive adoption of new systems, tools, and reporting capabilities to enhance productivity and decision-making Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience Strong general ledger and close experience in a large, high-volume organization Demonstrated success driving process improvements, close acceleration, and/or system implementations Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs; Power Query and/or VBA strongly preferred) Experience with large ERP systems required Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, or SQL strongly preferred CPA or CPA track highly preferred What We’re Looking For Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization Highly technical accounting professional with strong systems and data capabilities Proven ability to drive change, implement process improvements, and lead transformation initiatives Hands-on manager comfortable balancing execution with strategic initiatives Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs
