Job Description Job Description DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine inefficiencies in manufacturing processes · Formulate sampling procedures, and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data · Study and record time, motion, methods and speed to improve efficiency and establish a standard production rate in performance of maintenance, production and other worker operations · Identify and quantify inefficiencies/repetitive problems on manufacturing equipment and utilize statistical methods to present and support recommendations to increase productivity · Gather and analyze manufacturing downtime and scrap data · Develop continuous improvement plan to maximize efficiency, product yield and consistency of quality · Prepare detailed standard operating procedures for various production or operational processes as well as repair and preventative maintenance of equipment and to verify procedures are followed · Training of personnel on standard operating procedures · Analyze the effectiveness of preventive maintenance program and make recommendations for improvement · Work very closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams · Develop labor utilization standards to promote efficient staffing · Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel and materials POSITION REQUIREMENTS: · BS in Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering · Team player; strong communicator · Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma is a plus · Self motivated, able to work independently · Results Oriented in an ever changing environment · Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills · Basic Computer Skills: MS Office · Ability to read and draw SolidWorks drawings WORK ENVIRONMENT This position will spend approximately 95% of the time in a manufacturing plant environment
