Summary Perform bench-type processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using hand tools, and electronic and pneumatic tooling. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assemble and test according to blueprints, diagrams and specifications using hand tools, power tools, precision instruments and test equipment Read blueprints and technical orders to determine methods and sequence of assembly operations Examine parts for surface defects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor Align, fit and assemble component parts into completed units using hand tools, power tools fixtures and templates Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to blueprint specifications using precision instruments such as calipers, etc
